about

This album is about self discovery.
I'm not talking about discovering that you like Chopin, or that peas don't taste too bad. I'm talking about the ugly truths. I'm talking about having your loved ones finding you overdosed. Having to call an ambulance and try their best to keep you alive until it gets there. Imagining their confusion, pain, and helplessness. Wondering why I judged my pain to be more important than anyone's. I'm talking about being a general piece of garbage as a human being. Ask me anything and I'll tell you. My list of transgressions runs long. Some people can go through life blaming everybody else, but that doesn't work for me. Facing these flaws and admitting they exist is the only way I can get to them. So I sing about it.
But underneath the self disgust, is a tendril of hope.
It stems from the unbelievable capacity of people to forgive. To know that despite all your misdeeds, those who truly know you and love you, are always waiting for you to come back. The hope that you can learn to forgive yourself.
I met some great people in the process of making this album. People who believed in the man as much as the songs. While I may have been a gigantic letdown, (I still have many flaws to work on) I believe the songs hold up because of the musicians who took my ugly truths and transformed them into something even I can't ruin. I thank you all from the bottom of the block of ice that passes as my heart. We made a good album together.

a sad look on a doll face.

if I could feel that good again
